OSA Opto Light boosts quantum efficiency of near infrared 1060nm SMD-LED

The OSA Opto Light GmbH announces a considerably improvement of the near infrared 1206 SMD LED portfolio. Thanks to new developments, the radiant intensity increased by more than factor 3 compared to the previous devices in this range. Now there is an external quantum efficiency of about 35% achieved.
The LED is available in a 1206 package without lens (OIS-150) and with 30° lens (OIS-330). Furthermore, two wavelength binnings 1025-1055 and 1050-1080 nm are possible. At 50 mA the radiant intensities achieve 7 mW/sr for the standard respectively 45 mW/sr for the lensed version. The LEDs can be measured under custom specific conditions and provided taped up or taped down (TD) for through hole mounting.
“With this development we improve our position as supplier for custom tailored LED- solutions from UVC to the NIR range” claims P. Rotsch, Managing Director at OSA Opto light GmbH. “Our customers use these LED for various applications in solar industry, sensor technology and health care”
