UV Modules
The extension of the LED wavelength towards the near UV region requires both new chip and packaging technologies. Driven by the market requirements OSA Opto Light GmbH developed two new LED packages to meet the high reliability expectations for UV-LED like lifetime up to several 10,000 hours. The package family OCU-400 meets the requirements of low and medium power applications. OCU-400 UV-LED are available in the wavelengths rangeof 350nm … 435nm.
The package family OCU-440 was developed for high power applications in the range up to 1.5 W electrical power dissipation. At present the available wavelengths are between 365 and 430nm.
Based on discrete power devices like the OCU-440 package or bare dices OSA Opto Light offers customized solutions in conventional or COB technology. These can include temperature monitoring, heat sink, heat management, powersupply and power control. The example below provides at an area of 40 x 36mm an optical power power of about 24 W @ 400nm. The UV-LED Module OLM-018 with high chip density, using high efficiency UV LED-Chips, meets the requirements in the medium radiant densitiesrange, e.g. at a wavelength of 395nm a power density of 1.5- 1.8 W/cm² canachieved. This system can customized for different wavelength.
