The extension of the LED wavelength towards the near UV region requires both new chip material and new packaging technologies.

Driven by the market requirements OSA Opto Light has developed two new LED packages to meet the high reliability expectations for LEDs, based on the reliability of visible and IR emitting diodes.

Special care has been focused on the target to provide non fluorescent radiant sources.

Our intensive research and development work in the UV area has been supported by the German State Department for Economy and Technology.

The package family OCU-400 meets the requirements of low- and medium power applications. Available wavelengths are in the range of 360nm … 430nm.

The package family OCU-440 is for high power applications in the range up to 1.5 W electrical power dissipation. At present the available wavelengths are between 375nm and 410nm.

OSA Opto Light works hard to extend the available wavelengths with efficient and reliable light sources in the UV range.
