OSA
Opto Light has developed a High Power LED (OHL) for the wavelength spectrum
from 385 to 950 nm. This device allows an operating-current up to 750
mA, in comparison to 70 mA sofar for compareable housing sizes. The dimensions
of the OHL-LED are 2,9 mm x 3,3 mm. The OHL-LED device has a very low
thermal resistance (lower than 12 K/W) Therefore, the chip as the actual
light emitter can operate with very high performances in the OHL-housing.
The chip size is in between 250 x 250 and 1000 x 1000 µm. |

The
High Power LED device can handle a power dissipation up to 1500 mW to
the ambient (comparable with a luxeon-emitter, roundly twenty times larger)
so cw-current up to 750 mA (IR) and 300 mA (blue) becomes possible. The
small outline gains an unbeatably optical integration density for application
like general lighting and many more. |
